Amy Hughes

Ms. Amy Hughes has worked at St. Mary School for over 16 years and held various positions, including technology coordinator, computer teacher, physical education teacher, kindergarten teacher, and most recently, fifth-grade teacher. She is a graduate of Illinois College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Work. She also holds a Master of Arts in Education from Benedictine University.

In her philosophy of education, Ms. Hughes emphasizes the need for engaging, student-centered instruction and activities, the importance of holding and challenging students to meet high yet attainable expectations, and the significance of effective classroom management and family involvement in education.

Ms. Hughes takes her responsibility as a Christian role model very seriously, understanding her influence in fostering the growth of her students.
