Defenders Basketball
Defenders Basketball gives 4th through 6th graders the opportunity to play competitively. Our coaches help players become more independent on the court, allowing them to make decisions and choose positions that fit their strengths.
Practice and Game Schedule
The Defenders usually play 14 games per season. Home games take place at the St. Mary Gymnasium, while away games are held at opposing schools. Practices are scheduled in advance to help players prepare for the season.
Parent Involvement
Parents help make the season run smoothly. Parents must attend a preseason meeting and commit to helping at home games. Each family must sign up to volunteer at least two to three times during home games. Volunteer duties include managing the door, running concessions, operating the scoreboard, keeping the scorebook, and cleaning up after games.
Registration & Eligibility
The Defenders Basketball Program is open to boys and girls in fourth through sixth grade. Registration opens at the beginning of the school year for the fall season. Sign-up dates and times will be announced to students and posted to our website and Facebook page. Check back for the 2025 fall season updates.
