St. Mary School

Dear St. Mary’s Families:
St. Mary is pleased to announce an exciting new fundraising program called Scrip. This is something everyone can use, and there is no selling involved. We can earn money for the school by ordering gift cards that can be used for groceries, dining out, movie rentals, and many other items too numerous to name. A list of the participating retailers of these cards is attached. You are more than welcome, and encouraged to order cards for your friends and family members. Just collect their money and add them on your own personal Scrip order.

For each card ordered, St. Mary will receive a percentage of that purchase. The percentage varies depending on the retailer. For example, if you order a $250 Wal-Mart gift card, we will receive 2% for that order which equals $5.00. By spending the same amount of money that you would monthly, you can give back to the school anywhere from 2-25%. In other words, it costs you nothing to earn funds for our school. These cards work just like gift cards, no special codes or coupons are needed. You can use them for yourself, or give them as gifts.

With the holidays coming up, we think this is a great time to start this program. Think of all the gas you will save on traveling to the various stores or restaurants to pick up your favorite gift cards for gifts.

Speaking of gas, we all have to use it, so why not plan ahead and buy a gas card to fill up your tank? Pay at the pump is definitely a more convenient way to go. It is a great way to plan a budget for your family and stick with it.

Gift cards are also a good way to send your children shopping with friends and not have to worry about them handling cash or your credit card. Have a prepaid Visa card or department store card on hand, and let them use that.

There are many hotels listed so you can use these if you are taking a vacation or just a simple weekend trip.

Please download the attached list of participating retailers and start shopping. Also attached is an order form we will be using. Print as many as you need. We will place our first script order on November 23 so gather your order forms, attach a check made out to St. Mary School, and send it in an envelope marked “Scrip” with your family’s name on it. Your cards will be delivered in approximately 2 weeks. We will send an order each week up until Christmas break. After the New Year, we’ll order every two weeks.
