Dear Parents, It is time to begin another year of PSR. Thsi year we are making a few changes. The first is that PSR will be from 9:45 to 10:45. Due to the fact that class is now only an hour, I ask that all students be in their classrooms by 9:45, ready to begin. We will open the doors at around 9:35. Teachers will be in the classrooms by 9:30. To run the PSR program many hard working, dedicated people are needed. They give of their valuable time freely. For this reason, I feel we need to justify our reason for having PSR. Thsi year there will be accountability. Class attendance is a must. Those who miss more than four classes will not move on to the next grade. Also, there will be criteria established at each grade level for passing that grade. In grades 1 through 6, these will be given on the first day of class. I encourage all parents to walk their children in this first day so that you can meet with the teacher and go over this new criteria. For parents of students in grades 7 through 10, there will be a REQUIRED parent meeting int he cafeteria. We have worked at making grades 7 through 10 a comprehensive program preparing students for Confirmation. What they do in any of these grades may affect their ability to be Confirmed. This new program will be explained to parents and students at that meeting. If parents have younger students as well, please attend the required meeting. The elementary teachers can fill you in on their requirements at a later time. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on September 13th.
